Hodie Christus Natus Est, O Sapientia – Catholic Christmas Songs
A couple of short Messianic Christmas hymns and salutations. The lyrics for each follow:
Hodie Christus natus est: hodie salvator apparuit:
Hodie in terra canunt angeli, laetantur archangeli:
Hodie exultant justi, dicentes: gloria in excelsis Deo: Alleluia.
O Sapientia, quae ex ore Altissimi prodiisti,
attingens a fine usque ad finem,
fortiter suaviterque disponens omnia:
veni ad docendum nos viam prudentiae.
Today Christ is born: Today the Saviour appeared:
Today on Earth the Angels sing, Archangels rejoice:
Today the righteous rejoice, saying: Glory to God in the highest: Alleluia.

Catholic Christmas Songs – While Shepherds Watched Their Flocks
This is one of my favourite carols, though lesser known. This performance is sung by the Port Nelson Chancel Choir, and can be found on the ‘A Noteworthy Christmas’ CD.
While shepherds watched
Their flocks by night
All seated on the ground
The angel of the Lord came down
