Doing simple things to to show charity to others, anticipating future crises and problems, and be constantly prepared to develop better solutions to accomplish your mission. Jesus gives us an example of this by taking the initiative in calling the Apostles to collaborate in His redemptive mission and by His leadership in prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane while the Apostles slept.

Recognizing who one really is before God, practicing the virtue of humility to discern the truth in every situation, and receiving sanctifying grace through the Sacrament of Confession. Jesus commands us to study and imitate His humility and He gives us an example of humility throughout His whole life which motivated His apostles to imitate Him and to be faithful to their mission.

Jesus gives us an example of sacrifice by offering His life on the cross for the salvation of men.

Patiently listening to subordinates, humbly acknowleging better solutions, giving credit to subordinates when it is due, creating an environment where subordinates can freely approach you with problems. Jesus does this by questioning the disciples and correcting the disciples. Also, the Pope gives an example by seeking counsel from the College of Bishops in his governance of the Church.

Provide your subordinates with the necessary tools and equipment to succeed, clearly communicating objectives and tasks, providing proper authority to subordinates. Jesus does this by clearly communicating objectives to the Apostles, giving St. Peter the authority and responsibility to govern the Church, and sending the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles.
