This was a quick clip shot in the car while on pilgrimage in New Mexico. Br. Augustine is wrapping up a foot blister of the postulant Logan and it quickly turns into a large wrapping. Others in the car slept right through it.
Recently the Bishop of Assisi Italy dies. His funeral procession occurred while we were at Mass. We Capuchin friars stop the during the Mass to pay our respects.
During the midday bells at the Portiuncula in Assisi I was moved by the church bells ringing and saw the history in photos of how this structure was built.
I made this video in tribute to those who leave the pleasures of world and self, in order to follow the contemplative and/or active life in God. Sadly, the orders of mendicants, monks and nuns have greatly decreased in number in the past century, due to the dramatic return of secular hedonism. I hope this video will awaken some desire for spiritual growth in all of us; we all need to give our selves entirely to God, whether cleric or layman. The music is Paradisi Portae.
