What’s New About The New Evangelization
What is new about the new evangelization?

Proper understanding of evangelization
Comes from the same Greek work as Gospel
Evangelization is the universal vocation of the Church and each of her members. Evangelization includes both witness and proclamation, but also discipleship, community, and mission. Evangelization is Christocentric. Evangelization is directed towards the initial conversion of non-Christians and towards the on-going conversion of all Christians. Evangelization seeks to transform individual lives and cultures. Evangelization is only possible through grace and the work of the Holy Spirit.
The new evangelization is a pastoral approach to applying the universal mission of the Church to our fractured world
“Thirdly, there is an intermediate situation, particularly in countries with ancient Christian roots, and occasionally in the younger Churches as well, where entire groups of the baptized have lost a living sense of the faith, or even no longer consider themselves members of the Church, and live a life far removed from Christ and his Gospel. In this case what is needed is a “new evangelization” or a “re-evangelization.”
So what is new about it?
JP2 said it is new in ardor, methods, and expression
How do we evangelize people in this situations? Six practical keys:
Evangelization almost always occurs in the context of a relationship
Must know their situation
Where are they in the COE
Witness and proclamation
Testimony.
