EWTN Bookmark – Render Unto Caesar by Most Rev. Charles J. Chaput
Why we like it: Kicking off Bookmark’s 8-week celebration of the principles of religious liberty upon which our country was founded, is this classic interview with (now Archbishop) Charles Chaput. His prescient views of how our Catholic beliefs undergird and support our politics are breathtakingly up-to-the-minute.
The take-away: We take our religious freedoms for granted, at our peril. The Fortnight for Freedom is an important time to return to the active defense of those truths our forefathers declared to be self-evident: life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

Why we like it: A second novel from Marcus Grodi makes for summer reading at its finest.
The take-away: A story which, to quote Joseph Pearce, “warms the heart, informs the head, and invigorates the spirit.”

by Siobhan Nash-Marshall
Why we like it: An 18-year-old who leads an army, defeats a world power, and crowns a king, all in the space of 6 months? Find out all about St. Joan of Arc on this week’s Bookmark!
The take-away: Joan’s courage, honesty, and sheer determination to follow God’s will is a neon sign pointing us to seek out and follow our own destinies, inspired by the Holy Spirit’s leading. Siobhan Nash-Marshall’s biography is for young and old, and for those who think that God has nothing important for them to do.
