Michael Barber is the Professor of Theology, Scripture and Catholic Thought at John Paul the Great Catholic University and teaches formation courses at the Diocesan Institute in San Diego. He is currently completing a doctoral dissertation on Jesus, Eschatology and the Sacraments at Fuller Theological Seminary. Professor Barber holds a B.A. in Theology and Philosophy from Azusa Pacific University and a Master’s Degree in Theology from the Franciscan University of Steubenville. He is currently a Research Fellow for the St. Paul Center for Biblical Theology, founded by Dr. Scott Hahn.
Michael Barber has written a number of books including, Singing in the Reign: The Psalms and the Liturgy of God’s Kingdom (2001) and Coming Soon: Understanding the Book of Revelation and Applying Its Lessons Today (2005). His most recent book is Genesis to Jesus (2007), a Bible study he has co-authored with Kimberly Hahn. In addition, he is the host of the nationally syndicated radio show, Reasons for Faith Live, which is heard on EWTN Radio. He has appeared on the Fox News Channel and on radio programs hosted by well-known Catholics such as Jeff Cavins and Al Kresta. Together with his friend Brant Pitre, Barber writes for the Saint Paul Center’s Bible and Theology weblog, Singing in the Reign
He and his wife Kim live in San Diego with their two sons, Michael Patrick (Jr.) and Matthew Stephen.
