Fr. Rufus - Catholic Charismatic and Exorcist
Father Rufus Pereira is a Roman Catholic priest and exorcist of Mumbai, India. He performs exorcisms worldwide and has been the catalyst in bringing lay people into the deliverance ministry and the Catholic church’s closer cooperation with such groups.
In 1994 he was selected as Vice-president of the International Association of Exorcists which was started in 1993, and in 1995 initiated the International Association for the Ministry of Deliverance
He speaks of his first experience with the Charismatic movement, his first encounter of demonic possession, and one of the most recent cases of possession.

I would like to know if Fr. Rufus is a “Charismatic”. The learned Fr. John Hardon S.J. whose cause is up fro beatification has denounced all charismatics. Much has been written about this subject by very well known and experienced clergy (Bishop Fulton Sheen) is another one, who does not recommend anyone to follow this “Pentecostal religion” practice. Would like to hear what Fr. Rufus has to say on this.

Was wondering why my last comment was not shown. Bishop Fulton Sheen and Fr. John Hardon S.J, who both causes for their beatification has been presented; they have stated that “The Charismatic movement, is something that people should avoid.” This movement has for a long time been found within the Pentecostal churches. This is Not a practice used in our Catholic Churches, and it has lead many people away from the true faith.” Read what Fr. Hardon says about the Charismatic movement…Just google Fr. Hardon’s archives.
Exorcisms and exorcists are not necessarily charismatic…exorcisms were performed by Jesus.
