One is the video of his conversion wearing what some believe is a Special Forces pin. It is hard to prove. However I have noticed it in other videos. Have you? Can you help find out what it is?

    Father Pavone,

If you are truly committed to PROLIFE why have you not responded to my many calls and attempts to speak with you in person?

I am the niece of an Oblate of Saint Francis De Sales and a prolife Catholic as well!

Have we again reached the day when the priest is better than the laity?

THAT WAS NOT THE MESSAGE OF THE BIBLES!

The Apostolate of Our Lady of Guadalupe
    10236 Allway Dr. • El Paso, TX 79925 jorgewiesinger@sbcglobal.net

    Father John Corapi

    Dear Father John Corapi:

The Apostolate of Our Lady of Guadalupe would like to request that you come to El Paso, Texas. At your earlier convenient time, this year or next year or the next year (2011). We are aware of your coming to San Antonio Texas (2010) were I will, God’s willing be there to introduce myself to you.

Statistic show that while nearly 80% of the city of El Paso professes to be Catholic, only 40% actually attend Sunday Mass on a regular basis. Furthermore, an alarming number of El Paso’s parishioners have been converting to non-denominational faiths. We believe that this is partially due to the fact that many in the diocese suffer from a less than desirable level of catechesis. As a primarily Hispanic culture, the faithful in our diocese are especially susceptible to attacks on their understanding of the Eucharist and the Mass. The Protestant critique has left many questioning the veracity of a Jesus true presence in the Eucharist and the Mass, which has led us to host such a conference.

We believe that your focus on the scriptural and covenantal basis for devotion to the Real Presence of Our Lord in the Eucharist speaks exactly to the topic that our diocese needs to hear. Also, we are especially interested in the particular emphasis that you place upon Mass as a fulfillment of the mandate that God made to all of us. Furthermore, I believe that the strong reputation that you have in El Paso as an orthodox theologian will greatly aid in the favorable reception of your message by the people. Much confusion has arisen in our diocese, as we have unfortunately been plagued recently with several teachers in positions of authority who have publicly challenged and contradicted the teachings of the Church. (Including the teaching of some of our priest).

Thank you very much for your time and consideration. We hope you will consider this offer, as we would be honored to have you come. We have already received the full support of our local bishop, and made preparations to hold the event at El Paso’s Civic Center or some other place, that will accommodate approximately two thousand people (Our goal). I look forward to hearing if you will be able to accept this speaking engagement. Please contact me at 915-590-3110 or 915-859-0074 or at jorgewiesinger@sbcglobal.net

    Sincerely yours, Jorge Wiesinger

Pope Benedict XVI took decisive action to face the problem. Naturally, given the magnitude of the negative impact of the issue at hand on the Church and humanity as a whole, I don’t think that the Pope did enough (at least in public) in two fundamental areas: first, in so far the changes needed in the doctrinal understanding of apostolicity; and second, as regards the collateral damage done to the Church in the area of unduly denied vocations to the priesthood! Let’s briefly adress both concerns. Since, according to the accepted doctrine (D 1828, also Leo XIII, Encyclical Satis cognitum, Schillebeeckx, and others), the apostolic office is the sole domain of the clergy and Bishops, the apostolic office has been grievously hurt and diminished by the scandal at hand! By apostolicity we here understand the triple office of origin, teaching, and sucession (originis, doctrinae, succesionis, cf. Ludwig Ott, Fundamentals of Catholic Dogma, pp. 289, 308). The current scandal raises an important theological question: should not the apostolic office belong to the lay also, in the measure of their academic merits and sanctity? The very meaning of missionary apostolicity, in my view, requires aggiornamento, for apostolicity is the domain and reflection of how we live our faith, and many lay people surpass in this respect priests and bishops! I stress here that I am in favor of papal infallibility and lay obedience to the bishops. But I also see a vital need for the holiest elements among the laity, to voice their criticisms without being denied the right to serve! The entire Church, lay and clergy, are Apostolic to themselves and to the world! And secondly, each time the apostolic office fails in one area, there are universal repercussions in all others! First and foremost there is the damage done to the people’s faith and the collateral damage to ecumenism worldwide. This damage, inmense in scope, needs to be dealt in separate articles. I will limit myself here to the harm done to those who, like myself, were denied priestly and religious vocations in the last three decades, for the reason given by priests and religious was directly tied to the scandal we are here addressing: the need for holiness in the Church! We were outspoken critics of evil within the Church’s ranks! The Superiors who denied our vocations often argued that “the Church needs certain particular charisms”, not the ones that the candidates brought. In my case, I was told that “your self-negation was not the needed charism, only singing, good reading voice, musicality … and the willingness to compromise and be compassionate in the face of sin.” In the eyes of these superiors the apparent lack of those charisms killed my vocation to be of service to the Church! Yet the very Catholic Catechism [art.193), states, that the self-negation is the basis of the Church ‘s unifying love! The more we renounce our pleasures for the love of God, the greater assests to the community we are! This “collateral” damage to the Church Pope Benedict XVI didn’t (at least publicly), address! The candidates who scorned the world, gave their possessions to the poor, and renounced the pleasures of sex in order to love God with their “entire soul”, as demanded in Deuteronomy 6, 5, were systematically removed from the Priestly Formation Programs in the past decades! The sole declaration that one loved the truth, hated the evils of homosexuality, abortion, and pedophilia, were almost certain ticket for dismissal on the basis of “uncompassion and uncompromisedness”! In short, the candidate’s love and yearning for holiness was seen as obex (an obstacle), rather than an asset! This denial that the self-negating love for God and for truth is the most desired charism in a priestly candidate is the reason for the scandal of pedophilia! This is why I end this reflection by saying: we need to address the nature of priestly call and the required charisms again, even if this takes a Vatican III!

Thought you might be interested in reading my memoir, “Praise God for Tattered Dreams” and then mentioning it to others as the Spirit moves you.
The back cover reads: It took the time and space provided by a massive stroke for this young author to realize her ‘Jesus piece’ was missing. Life’s been going her way since she stopped saying, “Why me, God?” and started asking, “What’s next, Lord?”
To order a copy online, go to http://www.lulu.com and search for the phrase “tattered dreams.”

My name is Florence Olugbemiro and I am looking for a video that was made around 1959 on my mother then Philomena Umoffia at CCC Girls (Cornelia Conelly College Imo State) by the Holy CHild Nuns. I am in the process of documenting my mum’s autobiography; when interviewing her she mentioned this video was done by the Nuns and sent to America.

It would be A GREAT me-moires for us her children and an inspiration for her grandchildren. Philomena just turned 74, visiting me in Australia and we had a grand celebration.

    SOCIAL  2011
Resident of Uzbekistan living in Azerbaijan for 28 years cannot obtain citizenship
    2011 February 23 ( Wednesday )  17:31:42 (Visited 18)

Amid Mamedov  (Azerbaijani, native of Uzbekistan, born in 1982) living in Azerbaijan since 1983, still can not get any identity card or passport. At today’s press conference at the Media Center, he said that due to absence of documents, he can not get an education and live a normal life.
His father died and his mother and sister have been registered in the Baku police and rent an apartment. Despite numerous appeals  to various organs Mamedov can not obtain citizenship of Azerbaijan.
Only in 2010 he received the State Migration Service (SMS) stateless person’s document. This document is only valid within the country. On the basis of this document he should  get a passport that allows  him  to travel abroad, but he cannot get it too.
The head of Centre for Legal Assistance to Migrants Alovsat Aliyev noted that since the Mamedov’s mother  is a citizen of Azerbaijan,  he must get a citizenship. The migration service does not  have any  ground for not giving citizenship to  Mamedov.
Currently, there are approximately 30,000 people in Azerbaijan  in similar situation. Most of them are natives of Georgia, Armenia and third countries.
Aliyev said that  the SMS  appealed to the Interior Ministry  with request to annul identity cards  issues to 1,000 people who have no citizenship. "Even if these identity cards and  passports were issued illegally, only courts can cancel their  validity," said the expert.

All the popes, Church Councils including Vatican Council II,like Fr.Leonard Feeney held the ‘rigorist interpretation’ of extra ecclesiam nulla salus : invincible ignorance (LG 16) is not an exception to the dogma With invincible ignorance and the baptism of desire ‘out of the way’ we can realize that the Catholic Church has not retracted the thrice defined dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus. It is “practically” impossible to know any case saved with the baptism of desire or in ivincible ignorance said a priest of the religious community in Rome, Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate.Monday, February 20, 2012All the popes, Church Councils including Vatican Council II,like Fr.Leonard Feeney held the ‘rigorist interpretation’ of extra ecclesiam nulla salus : invincible ignorance (LG 16) is not an exception to the dogma With invincible ignorance and the baptism of desire ‘out of the way’ we can realize that the Catholic Church has not retracted the thrice defined dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus. It is “practically” impossible to know any case saved with the baptism of desire or in ivincible ignorance said a priest of the religious community in Rome, Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate.

Last week two Dominican priests at the Basilica Santa Maria Sopra Minevra, Rome said that these extra ordinary cases are known only to God.

So if it means if I meet a non Catholic on the street I know that he is oriented to Hell unless he converts into the Catholic Church before death. This is the official teaching of the Catholic Church before and after Vatican Council II.

It means all non Catholics on earth need to convert into the Catholic Church for salvation and it is only God who can judge who is in invincible ignorance and who knew about Jesus and the Church but refused to enter.

It also means that we cannot say ‘only those who know and do not enter  are oriented to Hell’ and then assume that most non Catholics ‘do not know’.The dogma and other magisterial texts mention no defacto exceptions.
If the exceptions were known on earth then we could say ‘only those who know’. The Rome Vicariate on its website says only those who ‘know’ need to enter the Church to avoid Hell. Since, the Vicariate wrongly assumes that cases of invincible ignorance and the baptism of desire are known to us on earth. So these ‘known’ people do not have to enter the Church according to them.
Fr.Leonard Feeney was correct in saying that the baptism of desire is not an exception to the dogma outside the church no salvation.

In the Catechism of the Catholic Church 1257 (The Necessity of Baptism), Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger expected us to use the defacto-dejure analysis to avoid clashing with the Principle of Non Contradiction.Liberals wrongly use the defacto-defacto interpretation.

In Responses to Some questions regarding certain Aspects of the Doctrine on the Church (2007) Pope Benedict XVI was saying that the Church of Christ is the Catholic Church (subsistist it). Subsistist it is ‘indirectly related’ to the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus says a Jesuit priest, on his website.-Lionel Andrades.
