I’m sorry you feel that way. In case you didn’t know it, being created in the image and likeness of good gives all human beings, whether immigrant or not, an inheritant dignity.
Since the definition of dignified is “one who posesses dignity”, then all immigrants whether legal or illegal, are dignified.
There is a real problem that we must deal with, in being that our next door neighbor(s) in Latin America are are among some of the poorer nations in the world. We cannot just claim that they have no dignity for migrating here for opportunities, and then discard them and treat them as second class people.
Your definition of dignified implies then that are no undignified human beings. Untrue. There are those who exercise their free will and leave their dignity behind by their behavior.
Please save your “wow” comment for a more shocking post than mine. In case you didn’t know it, there is a legal way to enter the country. In case you didn’t know it, the illegals (they are not immigrants) do not want to be Americans. In case you didn’t know it, they funnel conservatively 70 million dollars out of our nation per year while draining resources set up to handle indigent Americans. That is stealing. From poor people.
In case you didn’t know it, there are ways to treat people with compassion and encourage them to reconcile their sin (lying, stealing, trespassing, identity theft, line jumping), and still retain our nation’s sovereignty. In case you didn’t know it, there are 40,000 OTM (other than Mexican) crossings in an average week. Enforce the border.
There is no conflict between Catholicism and enforcing America’s borders.
