The Mother Theresa debate rages on The Chris Matthews Show on MSNBC. Devout Atheist Christopher Hitchens and Catholic League President discuss the cover article this past week in Time magazine about the struggles of Mother Theresa’s Dark Night.
Someone please send Mr. Hitchens a copy of The Dark Night of the Soul, along with a good interpretation of it.
Somebody please send Mr. Donahue a copy of the Beatitudes particularly the 8th one!
I am sure that Blessed Mother Teresa is enjoying her great reward in heaven - as she was and continues to be persecuted for His sake (the 8th Beatitude). I believe that Mr. Donahue is very aware of this Beatitude as well.
If, however, the above comment was to cite the 8th commandment … Mr. Donahue (albeit he can be rough around the edges) is far from bearing false witness. I am reluctant to say the same of Mr. Hitchens.
