Benedict XVI: Prayer by those who love and serve
Prayer generates men and women inspired not by selfishness, the thirst for power, the desire for possessions; but by gratuitousness, the desire to serve, to be friends of God, and only in this way can light be brought into the world. These were the words of Pope Benedict XVI in the Paul VI Audience Hall during this morning’s general audience, which was attended by over 9 thousand pilgrims, and was part of a series of reflections on the prayer of the apostles.
